Check out my apps!
My background it web development hasn't only impacted my compositions. Over the years, I have made a host of apps that all started with me needing a tool to help my experience as a music student 🎼. All of these apps were awesome porjects that taught me so much about programming, and I hope they can provide you with as much help as they did for me! All of my apps are free to use, however, if you rely on them for any academic research, please cite me as a source 😀.
Pitch Class Set Calculator
Having trouble calculating pitch class sets by hand for your own analysis 🤔? Use the onscreen keyboard to input your set into the field, and you'll get tons of useful information as a response. The ui is also far more modern and colorful 🎨 in comparison to the other set calculators you'll find on the web.
Check it outAtonal Dictation
Atonal ear training can be difficult to simulate on your own. With my atonal dictation tool, you can generate a Modus Novus style exercise that consists of intervals that you select, just like how the book teaches you 😮. The app will generate a short and rhythmically simple exercise along with a notated answer.
Check it outHarmonic Series Calculator
Need a tool to quickly tell you partials of a given fundamental? Check out my harmonic series calculator. Input the frequency in question ❓, how many partials you want to calculate, and you'll get a table with heaps of information from corresponding MIDI numbers, to microtonal adjustment 😎.
Check it outPolyrhythm Visualizer
Do you struggle with polyrhythms like I do 😶? Hopefully my polyrhythm visualization tool can help! Listen and see up to 8 contrasting beat subdivisions. You can even control the volume of each voice to help isolate particular rhythms in the texture! Just lock in a tempo, add the voices and beats, and listen to the rhtyhms 🎶.
Check it outRandom Music Challenge
Let's face it, every composer has writer's block. It's unavoidable, and it often gets in the way of our ability to practice what we love. This tool generates a random genre, mood and pitch collection to help kickstart your next project. Who knows, maybe it'll be the springboard for your magnum opus 🤩....
